Abstract:
This collection of perspectives from the New England Journal of Medicine explores three key policy and access issues in modern healthcare. The first article proposes strategies to expand access to older direct acting antivirals (DAAs) for hepatitis C through patent reform and generic partnerships. The second discusses how clinical trial diversity requirements intersect with multiregional trials, advocating for equitable global representation and regulatory harmonization. The third is a narrative reflecting on the hardships rural patients face accessing specialty care, highlighting the need for supportive infrastructure like temporary lodging.
